Do you lack a consistent process for training your staff? Lack time? Lack desire? These are some of the common reasons staff training is often insufficient to deliver high level performance. Owners and managers often delegate training to current employees without much oversight regarding the process. When asked about the details of their training process, many ODs will respond, “I really don’t know.”
While many owners and managers seek outside resources to deliver training to staff, it’s equally if not more important to develop a strong internal training process. New hires need a lot of hands-on support and ongoing feedback to succeed. Without this, employees are often left frustrated in their new role, which often leads to disappointing job performance and increased risk for attrition. And if you haven’t noticed, this is not exactly the best time for employee turnover!
Let’s talk about an often neglected but extremely important aspect of practice ownership – staff training!
