IDOC events are designed to inform, educate and inspire, whether you’re an OD just starting out in private practice or have been in business for years. We offer a year-round schedule of national and regional meetings, open to both ODs and their staff, that keep attendees on the forefront of clinical and industry developments, the best way to drive growth and stay competitive.
Just as important, IDOC events are powerful networking forums, helping our members and their staff connect and collaborate in new ways. Drawing attendees from across the country, our meetings encourage the open exchange of ideas and experiences, valuable peer-to-peer learning independent ODs can’t find on their own.
Events & Networking Opportunities
IDOC Study Groups
Our regional Study Group meetings offer independent eye care professionals a unique opportunity to network and connect with their local community in a small-scale, informal learning environment. Attendees are invited to explore topics of special interest to independent practitioners—from workplace productivity to winning retail strategies-and leave with clearly defined action steps that can be put to work right away. Study Group Meetings are held in a live setting with a sponsored dinner at a local, upscale restaurant. Join your local Study Group Meeting, and you will join a powerful community of local independent private practice doctors.
IDOC has partnered with Alcon to bring workshops to you.
Go beyond addressing the chief complaint to build patient loyalty for the long term. Explore strategies for anticipating patients’ eye care needs to elevate practice performance by walking through a case study about a patient named “Patience,” introducing the AMP UP Model, and more. This interactive learning experience incorporates presented content, scenario-based video, workshop components, and leave-behind materials to help you execute your learnings in your practice.
Workshops are held in a live setting at a local, upscale restaurant, hosted by your IDOC Member Directors.

IDOC National Conference
Our annual National Conference offers three intensive days of business management curriculum, COPE-approved education, staff training, high-profile guest speakers, and so much more.
IDOC Study Groups are led by IDOC Member Directors (IMDs). IMDs are respected optometrist leaders who provide local support for IDOC members across the country. As key opinion leaders in the industry, they serve as member advocates who stand for the growth, development and professional success of IDOC members.
